La Agrupación Vasca de Acuarelistas se siente orgullosa de organizar un evento tan importante como es el Simposio Internacional de
acuarela, siguiendo así la trayectoria iniciada hace 25 años por la Confederación Europea de Asociaciones de Acuarela.
Basándonos en la experiencia recogida en 2006, año en el que nuestra Agrupación organizó exitosamente su primer Simposio, hemos
elaborado un programa donde la acuarela es centro y motor del mismo y deseamos que las personas que asistan lo vivan como una gran
experiencia tanto desde el punto de vista artístico como humano.
Uno de los ejes principales del Simposio es la Exposición Internacional de Acuarela, fruto de la participación de las 14 Asociaciones que
forman parte de la ECWS. A todas ellas nuestro agradecimiento por hacer posible esta magnífica exposición cuyas obras recoge este
catálogo.
Poner en marcha una exposición de esta envergadura requiere de muchos esfuerzos y colaboraciones, por tanto tenemos que agradecer
a los equipos de la sala Ondare, Bizkaia Aretoa, Escuela de Artes y Oficios de Vitoria/Gasteiz y Casa de Cultura de Irún el gran apoyo que
nos han dado aportando el equipamiento y la logística necesaria para poder llevarla a cabo, así como a Goya y Winsor & Newton porque
su patrocinio ha sido determinante en la edición de este catálogo que tenéis en vuestras manos y que nos permite poder disfrutar de las
acuarelas que forman parte de esta singular exposición.

The Basque Association of Watercolourists is proud to organize such important event as the International Watercolour Symposium,
continuing the pathway started 25 years ago by the European Confederation of Watercolour Societies.
Based on experience gathered in 2006, the year in which our Association organized its first Symposium successfully, we have worked out
a program where watercolour is the essential part and driving force of it, we want people who attend to live it as a great experience both
from the artistic and human point of view.
One of the main axes of the Symposium is the International Watercolour Exhibition, the result of the participation of the 14 Associations
that are part of the ECWS. We would like to thank all of them for making this impressive exhibition possible, whose watercolours are
included in this catalogue.
Launch an exhibition of this magnitude requires many effort and collaborations, so we have to thank the crews of the Ondare room, Bizkaia
Aretoa, the Vitoria/Gasteiz School of Arts and Crafts and the Irún House of Culture the great support they have given us, providing the
necessary equipment and logistics to be able to carry out it, as well as Goya and Winsor & Newton because their sponsorship has been
decisive in the publishing of this catalog that you have in your hands and allows us to enjoy the watercolours that are part of this unique
exhibition.
