The Deutsche Aquarell Gesellschaft / German Watercolour Society e.V. (DAG/GWS e.V.) was founded in August 2012 and now has over
330 members from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. This summer we are celebrating our 10th anniversary. In just a few years, a small
association of watercolour painting enthusiasts has grown into the largest professional artists' organization for watercolour painting in the
German-speaking world.
For several years we have also been a member of the "European Confederation of Watercolour Societies" (ECWS) and are very proud of it.
Landscapes, still lifes, animals, florals, portraits, illustrations or abstracts – our members share an enthusiasm for watercolour in all its
facets. "The promotion of art, especially watercolour" is our association's purpose. We correspond to this with regular exhibitions,
workshops, painting meetings and painting trips, the publication of our "Yearbook of Watercolours" and the members' magazine "Pantha
Rei", the organization of the 24th ECWS Symposium in Ulm/Neu-Ulm in 2021. On behalf of the entire board, I would like to thank Euskal
Akuarelarien Elkartea / Agrupación Vasca de Acuarelistas for hosting the 25th European Watercolour Symposium.
